Exhibit: Treasures from the Collection of Florian Bruyas
Posted: October 21st, 2009 by Bridget Schumacher

The Music Library invites you to view a new exhibit:

Treasures from the Collection of Florian Bruyas
October 5, 2009-January 15, 2010

This exhibit, curated by Music Library Graduate Assistant Lina Terjesen, showcases volumes from the library’s collection of opera scores collected by Florian Bruyas, French Senator, Director of the Lyon Conservatory, and author of Histoire de l’Operette en France (1855-1965), now considered a seminal volume in the study of French opera. Bruyas annotated the scores with information about performances of the works, including names and information about cast members. Many of the scores contain newspaper and magazine clippings or illustrations of stage designs for the operas.

To view the exhibit, stop by the Music Library, located on the first floor of Baird Hall (north campus).
